Anil Kripalani founded WirefreeCom Inc. in September 2007 and worked in
strategic Wireless Systems Consulting and Board Member/Advisor roles
with the CEOs of several small and medium sized businesses. These
entrepreneur-led organizations focus on innovative communications
technologies, cost-effective software solutions and profitable wireless
products/services in the wireless, IPTV, industrial automation and energy
industries, and are primarily based in the U.S and India.
Anil has over thirty three years of experience in the wireless and data
communications industry, at two R&D focused companies, AT&T Bell
Laboratories and Qualcomm.
At Qualcomm from 1994 through August 2007, Anil last served as Corporate
Senior Vice President in the Global Development organization. He held
responsibilities at various times for global technology marketing,
International Regional Center management, 3G standards strategy
and evangelism, network engineering and business development. He
positioned the company's cutting edge wireless technologies globally,
most significantly in Asia, engaging with CxO level customers, captains
of industry, senior government officials, including a country President,
two Prime Ministers, State Governors, Communications Ministers, the FCC,
industry analysts and the media.
At AT&T Bell Laboratories from 1976 through 1994, Anil last served
as Department Head in the Chief Architect's Division and the Wireless
Business Unit. He led multi-disciplinary Bell Labs engineering teams
to develop AT&T's flagship cellular base station. Earlier, he was
architect of key services of AT&T's pre-Internet nationwide data
communications network (BDN/Net 1000).
Anil has served as TIA Telecom industry Standards Body Chairman for two
terms, TIA SDO Vice Chairman for two terms, TIA Board Special Advisor
(current), EIA Board Governor, Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Board Director
(5 years), IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Board Governor (3 years).
Anil is currently President of the San Diego Chapter of the global
TiE entrepreneur organization, and Alumni Advisory Board Member the
UCLA Computer Science Department. He was Chairman of the Board of
USC Marshall School of Business Center for Telecom Management (CTM)
(3 years), Advisory Board Member of UCLA WINMEC, and Board Director for
the San Diego Symphony (3 years).
